At King Brand, we get lots of phone calls regarding the Power Pack. A lot of the time it comes down to how the products are being used.
The BFST is designed to use Electromagnetic Energy. That energy will stimulate the blood flow under the surface of the skin. Do you feel your blood flow normally? No? We don't want you to feel much of anything while you do your BFST treatments either.
Naturally, you will have a little bit of warmth, and that's similar to when your blood pressure rises quickly, and you'll feel that flushing sensation in your cheeks. We're always expecting a slight warming sensation.
If you're feeling a higher heat, this just means that you're on a level that's too high, or that you have new inflammation that's blocking the ability for the blood flow to travel freely through the treatment area. This is when we recommend using the ColdCure. A quick ColdCure treatment will reduce the inflammation, and you'll notice that the next BFST treatment will be less warm.
Now, the BFST is a Class II Medical Device. It has lots of different safety features, that will stop the device from working, rather than providing an ineffective treatment. One of those features is temperature monitoring.
The BFST is designed to stimulate blood flow - not heat. If the BFST detects that there is too much surface warmth for the energy to continue penetrating through the dermal layer of skin the BFST will go into a "stand-by" mode. Once the temperature of the skin and the temperature of the wrap cool down, the treatment will resume. During this standby mode, the BFST is not requesting any power from the Power Pack, and in turn, the Power Pack is starting it's 5 minute "off" timer. This will essentially end your treatment early, if the BFST doesn't come out of the "stand-by" mode within that 5 minutes. The LED lights alone on the controller is not enough to keep the battery from starting it's power-down timer.
If you happen to notice that the BFST is turning off before it's 20-minute cycle is completed, this is most often the cause. A safety feature has kicked in, which in turn powers off the Power Pack.
