Hi there LilacsinSpring,

You're correct in saying that you need to start with ice.  Ice (or cold) therapy will help provide you with natural pain relief and will also reduce any visible swelling and underlying inflammation. Once your symptoms are under control this will allow healing to begin naturally and will enable you to start your Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy (BFST) treatments so you can speed up the recovery and healing process.

Many people under-estimate how much cold therapy is required and just use an ice pack occasionally. This is why they are in pain and have symptoms for prolonged periods of time. We believe our ColdCure Wraps are the best option because they come with 3 semi-solid gels, so you can do LOTS of cold therapy whenever needed. You use one gel in the wrap while the other 2 gels are charging in the fridge or the freezer (based on your cold tolerance and preference) and can swap out gels as often as required.
- When starting cold therapy for a fresh, mature or re-aggravated injury or ailment we recommend 20 minutes of ice (over top a thin layer of fabric; over a sock in your situation), then allow your body to return to its normal temperature, and then continue repeating this cycle until your symptoms improve.
- Once your symptoms have improved, you still need to apply ice (or cold) to keep symptoms under control or at bay, whenever you're experiencing pain or after activity - this includes any prolonged periods of standing or walking in your situation.

Recovering from Plantar Fasciitis can take time, particularly if you're on your feet a lot, so it's definitely a matter of resting as much as possible (elevating the feet may help), moderating your usual activities and avoiding stretching. Some people choose to use crutches, or a splint to help restrict range of motion or pressure on the sole of the foot, others try orthotics, others use Tape to stabilize and support without restricting range of motion....

We'd be more than happy to talk with you about everything mentioned above and to walk you through an ideal treatment regimen (for ColdCure, BFST and/or Taping) so you can get the most benefits out of your treatments and heal quickly. Feel free to call us toll free on 1844-400-2525. In the meantime, I've attached a link for our testimonials as requested, so you can check out what people (including Plantar Fasciitis sufferers) are saying about their treatments and experiences : http://www.kingbrand.com/Testimonials.php

Treatment Questions / Re: Rheumatoid arthritis to the elbow
« on: September 12, 2017, 04:59:59 PM »
Hi Janbo,

Thank you for your enquiry on behalf of your friend.

For swelling and pain we generally recommend our ColdCure range of products - as cold is a natural pain reliever and will also reduce inflammation and swelling.

We tend to promote 'charging' our ColdCure gels in the freezer, however, they can also be used from the fridge. The difference is that iced gels should be worn over a thin layer of fabric for a maximum of 20 minutes at a time, whereas refrigerated gels can be worn in direct contact with the skin and don't have a time limit (they can be used for as long as desired).

This being said, some Rheumatoid Arthritis and Arthritis sufferers don't tolerate the application of cold or ice.

We also have a BFST (Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy) range of wraps. BFST treatments are designed to improve blood flow in and around the targeted area. We generally advertise these wraps for injuries, however, people suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis and other forms of Arthritis have experienced pain and symptom relief through the improvement of blood flow and circulation.

We offer a 30 day money back guarantee, therefore, your friend may want to consider purchasing both of our Elbow products to see which option works best for them.

More information about the BFST and ColdCure technologies, as well as Elbow Wrap design and pricing can be seen via the attached link : http://www.kingbrand.com/Elbow-Home.php and products can be added to the Shopping Cart from this webpage.

Please don't hesitate to contact us toll free on 1844-400-2525 should you or your friend require any further assistance.

Treatment Questions / Re: slight pain returning??
« on: September 12, 2017, 04:40:54 PM »
Hi johnlow8955,

Discomfort may be experienced during or after a BFST treatment. This generally occurs if swelling or inflammation is present, as the body is focusing on symptom management and isn’t ready for extra blood flow to be delivered to the area of injury and begin the healing and recovery phase.

Discomfort (or heat) may be experienced after first use of the BFST or if the injury is aggravated or reinjured – this would be an indication that Cold therapy is required (ie. King Brand ColdCure or an ice pack) to target inflammation or swelling, before resuming BFST treatments again.  Moving up BFST levels too quickly without acclimatizing may also create heat or discomfort in the targeted area – moving back down in level should resolve this.

Improvement of blood flow should alleviate stiffness, soreness and improve range of motion as healing takes place. Also, having optimized nutrient-rich blood will speed up recovery and healing times.
In terms of experiencing a warm tingling sensation, this is perfectly normal. This feeling may decrease or disappear in time, as your body acclimatizes to the improvement of blood flow in and around the area you are targeting.

If you believe your symptoms of inflammation and swelling are under control and that you are using the BFST correctly, and still have concerns about what you’ve been experiencing . We would recommend you cease BFST treatments (in case there’s an underlying health condition) and contact us toll free 1844-400-2525 to discuss this matter in more detail.

In terms of treatment tips, we recommend using the BFST 3-4 times a day, spaced out across the course of the day, for example : first thing in the morning, at lunchtime, late afternoon/early evening and another last thing at night.

In between your planned BFST treatments, you should use Cold therapy to target any pain flare-ups and after any movements you feel might have aggravated your injury, then should follow up by a BFST treatment after your body has returned to its regular temperature  - to get back on track with the healing and recovery process.

It is also always best to aim to do activity (like going to the gym or walking) soon after a BFST treatment and to follow activity with Cold therapy, then a BFST treatment.

The following link provides full information about what treatment to do and when, as well as how to incorporate treatments around activity : http://kingbrand.com/Combination-Therapy.php

Again, please don’t hesitate to contact us by ‘phone if we can be of any further assistance.

Treatment Questions / Re: meniscus
« on: April 03, 2017, 12:36:30 PM »
Thank you for your post.

If you are wondering whether the BFST Wrap will at all interfere with a cochlear implant, we don't have any specific testing related to cochlear implants as they are still fairly rare. But, we would not expect the Energy Web® to interfere with the implant in any way. The BFST® units do not have any magnetic field associated with their operation; the emitted energy is photonic in nature.

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks.

Questions & Answers About Our Products / Re: Electromagnetic radiation
« on: March 13, 2017, 02:24:24 PM »
Hi there, Thanks for your enquiry Jay. We have lots of information about the BFST on our Forum (and our website www.kingbrand.com) - how it works, information about the technology, its safety and efficacy, our belief in producing the highest quality products possible, as well as the fact that the BFST is an FDA and Health Canada registered Medical Device (meaning the device has undergone tonnes of R&D, is safe to use and that we can substantiate our claims). You can absolutely rest assured that the BFST is completely safe :)

The below information has been copied from elsewhere on the Forum, but I think you'll find it of interest as it gives a good insight into what the BFST device is and what you can feel. Also take a look at the link underneath, as this should further help put your mind at rest about any health and safety concerns.

"The BFST is a diathermic device that stimulates sub-dermal tissue. It will stimulate blood flow deep within the soft tissue, providing nutrient-rich blood and optimized blood flow to the area being treated. This energy does not penetrate to your bones. Diathermy is well recognized and accepted by the medical community as an effective means of promoting sub-dermal blood flow in order to speed up healing and recovery times.

The BFST product uses proprietary technology and is an advanced diathermic device over older technology like Ultrasound. For example, you would probably treat yourself with Ultrasound for 10-15 minutes at a power level of about 1W over a very small area. With the BFST you would be treating yourself for 20 minutes at a time, with about 10W of energy, using the unit over a much larger target area. That's 10x the power for a longer duration. And the treatments promote the blood flow for a longer period after treatment. It is also much safer than Ultrasound (as there is no risk of small, localized sub-dermal tissue damage) and does not interfere with implanted medical devices like Microwave and Shortwave devices do. It's really just newer technology that does a much better job.

Our Energy Webs produce Electro-Magnetic Energy (EMR) well below the more dangerous visible light frequencies, (within the ultra-safe bands of the EMR spectrum at very safe power levels), at a frequency that is far above the highly magnetic frequencies like Shortwave. We feel our technology is superior to Shortwave, Ultrasound, Microwave and IR LED.

The Energy Web transmitter is flexible and has been ergonomically shaped to form fit. The Wrap is form-fitting, supportive and manufactured to medical quality standards. In fact, our devices are FDA and Health Canada registered, and King Brand Healthcare Products is an FDA registered and a Health Canada certified medical company.

During treatment some users experience a heating sensation, but the device is NOT a heating pad. A heating pad merely heats the surface of the skin whereas the BFST device penetrates deep below the skin to stimulate blood flow. BFST improves circulation and promotes faster healing - Heating pads don't.

King Brand is constantly investing in R&D and one key focus of the product development behind our Energy Web is to find ways to increase the diathermic output, while simultaneously reducing the amount of heat the device produces. There is still some heat produced by the device as a bi-product of generating our diathermic energy, but we are always trying to reduce this undesirable component of the process. That we design our product to produce as little heat as possible is the most significant difference between BFST and heating pad technology - The two technologies have diametrically opposed modes of operation.

We recommend all new users start their BFST treatments at Level 1. If a heating sensation is experienced, the level used should be decreased until heating is no longer present during a treatment. Only then should the next level be used. The heat bi-product of BFST treatments works to lessen the effectiveness of BFST, so better results are gained at a lower setting where no heat is felt rather than when the area feels warm. There is no need to move up quickly in levels; many people never treat themselves at Level 3.

Unfortunately some people find the heat soothing and this encourages them to move up levels prematurely.  It's not harmful to do this, so if you find pain relief from the warmth of a session this isn't going to cause harm, you just won't get as much blood flow benefit from each treatment; flushing the area with blood from heating interferes with the device's ability to penetrate deeply."

Feel free to also take a look at Topic: fda registered products  http://www.kingbrand.com/forum/index.php?osCsid=&topic=91.0  which has a great flow of information relating to questions that come up relating to our BFST claims and how the FDA fits in. Also, if you'd like to call us toll free on 1844-400-2525 we're always happy to help.

Tingling is normal but with sesamoiditis or (tendinitis) yes pain and swelling can re-occur. Generally you would stop the activity that started all this and stop the BFST for now and apply cold to the area off and on during the day for at least 3-4 days before trying the BFST again. You would also wear a more soft soled shoe and or cushion to the area for stress relief. If you must return to the activity that caused this do it gradually and slowly as inflammation and swelling can keep coming back. I would suggest longer periods of rest and elevation and cold therapy giving it more time to heal with less irritation. If it does not you may need to go back to your doctor and get a reassessment as to weather you may need to splint or brace it until it heals. I hope this helps and wish you all the best.

General Discussion / Re: Cold Cure Instructions
« on: July 11, 2015, 10:26:05 AM »
Hi jkm12675,

The gels are designed to stay inside the plastic casing and slip right into the mesh pocket in the wrap. One gel goes in the pocket at a time while the other two can be left in the fridge or freezer so that there is always a cold one to swap in. The gel does poke out of the back of the mesh pocket so that it can curve up, and treat, the back of the heel as well.

Have I answered your question? Please don't hesitate to ask if you any more questions. We have treatment advisers on staff 7 days/week as well if you'd prefer to talk to someone directly.

Hi JonR,

The Shoulder wraps do a great job in covering the rotator cuff, deltoids, biceps and the top of the trapezius however if your brothers pain is down in the lower trapezius area than I would recommend our Back wraps or our Large Body wrap.

There is an image of the shoulder wraps coverage within this page: http://www.kingbrand.com/Shoulder-Ice-Packs-and-wraps.php
To see our Back Wrap or Large Body wrap check out our shop page: http://www.kingbrand.com/Shop-Home.php

Hi Summer6,

The BFST is completely safe in conjunction with artificial joints. It will provide greater blood flow to the surrounding soft tissue for faster recovery from an injury or recovery from the surgery of having the artificial joint implanted.

Treatment Questions / Re: Young Girl w/ Wrist Sprain
« on: August 22, 2014, 12:19:16 PM »
Hi Janet. Thank you for your enquiry and for your interest in our products.

For your daughter's wrist, I highly recommend putting a cold compress on it until all the swelling is down. If there isn't any swelling, I still recommend focusing on cold for at least 3-4 days before continuing on with the BFST (if that is what is desired). The cold will not only help ease her pain, it will also bring down any inflammation there may be within the tendons.  If the inflammation is constantly present, it forms a barrier and blocks the bodies natural ability to bring blood flow to the area.

Our bodies have a natural ability to heal by bringing any injured area blood flow, however, the rate at which it does so is very slow. Our BFST (blood flow stimulation therapy) simply speeds up this process. There is an Energy Web inside the wrist wrap that emits electro-magnetic energy which sends a signal to the rest of our body, telling it that this specific area needs more blood flow. The blood flow this electro-magnetic promotes is full of the oxygen and nutrients she need in order to be able to heal, and at an accelerate rate.

It is good she is going to see a doctor.  Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help.

Kind regards,
Amber

Hi April, thanks for your enquiry.

During the flare-ups you're experiencing you'll definitely want to apply cold - this will help take down any inflammation and swelling, and cold is also a natural pain reliever. As it sounds like you have an ongoing weakness in this area of your body, you may find it helpful to apply cold after exercising or being active, as this will stop inflammation from having the opportunity to build up.

After 15 years you won't be healing your original injury.... but it's never too late to start using the BFST!  Stimulating your blood flow to optimise nutrient-rich blood will help you heal now, after re-injuring or re-aggravating your meniscus, and will also help prevent further re-injury.  Regular BFST treatments (in conjunction with the application of cold, as needed) should definitely help reduce your flare-ups.

Our BFST customers rave about improved mobility, less stiffness and soreness - Some users have recent injuries and some, like yourself, have recurring injuries or are using the BFST as part of their 'maintenance' program.

We hope this information is helpful, but please feel free to call us on 1-877-661-5239 if you'd like to discuss your personal health issues or Combination Therapy (the use of cold and BFST) in more detail.

Happy Healing!!

Adrienne :)

Questions & Answers About Our Products / Re: Glove Product
« on: July 25, 2014, 12:30:26 PM »
Thanks for your enquiry and suggestion Bernice! We love to receive suggestions on how we can continue improving our products and services  :D

Although we don't have a glove-shaped product, our Wrist Wraps can be used on any part of the hand or the wrist. These Wraps are rectangular and have Velcro on both ends, with a large treatment area - this allows the Wrap to be wrapped or placed on / around the desired target area; so you can enjoy Cold Therapy or Blood Flow Stimulation on the top or underside of your wrist, across the palm of your hand or knuckles, or around your fingers.

This wrap is pretty versatile and can even be used on a variety of smaller areas of the body and when combined with one of our Accessory straps there are even more possibilities... The ColdCure Wrist Wrap and Accessory Strap combination works great around the neck or head - perfect for migraine or neck ache sufferers!!

If you'd like to chat privately about your symptoms and how the Wrist Wrap might work for you, feel free to give us a call toll free on 1-877-661-5239. We'd love to hear from you.

All the best, Adrienne
