Medial Meniscus Problem
« on: December 08, 2014, 05:23:33 PM »
I was identified as having a medial meniscus tear (or wearing down) as a result of being a runner for many years.  I am 62 years old now and had to quit running 2 years ago.  I am not to the point of severe pain, but it would constantly feel swollen, though there was no visible swelling.  I had to gradually reduce my running from 50 or 60 miles per week and marathons, down to less and less until I just had to stop.  After taking time off and then starting to run again, the same process starts again, that is, feeling swollen followed by pain, etc.  Now, it comes right back even after a short run.

My question is whether a product such as the BFST would be effective on a medial meniscus that is the result of years of wear and tear, or whether surgery is the best option, or would neither be effective, given the 25 years it took to wear down?

I really don't expect to get back to serious running (though I'd love to), but just want to keep it from getting worse and deteriorating further.

Any advice or feedback is appreciated.

Dear Stevectpa,

Thank you for your enquiry about our products. I am sorry to hear that your experiencing issues with your knee. I too had a full knee reconstruct & lateral tendon release 5 years ago so I know what your talking about:)

Looks to me like your dealing with two separate issues here and I think that we may have some solutions that could aid you with both of them. I'm not sure that we can reverse the wearing down but I am confident in suggesting that you start immediately with the ColdCure Therapy Wrap to isolate and eliminate the inflammation happening in your knee. Once you have significantly reduced that over a few days we would add the BFST to the therapy treatment and start you on a combination of the (2) therapies together at least 3- 4 times a day.

As long as you do not have a complete tear of the meniscus we will have the ability to repair it and potentially avoid or delay your chance of surgery. If you do in fact have a complete tear, we will be unable to heal it together... however we can optimize the blood flow and nutrients to all of the muscles & tissues around it. And that is never a bad thing at all:)

We would love to provide you with some direct links & information for your review so please feel free to contact our Customer Service Team at 1-877-661-5239.

Wishing you nothing but healing success!
Kind Regards,
Heather
