Wearing the BFST over clothing

It's winter in DC. Does wearing the BFST over clothing (t-shirt and sweatshirt) reduce it's effectiveness?

Completing BFST treatments directly on skin and not over clothing is recommended. Using the BFST over clothing will make the treatments less effective.
