General Discussion / Re: 12 mm tear medial side
« on: September 17, 2015, 05:33:04 PM »
Definitely something to discuss further with your Doctor.  Scar tissue cannot be be broken down with increased blood flow and bone marrow edema is when fluid is found within the bone.  Again, stimulated blood flow will not fix this condition.  However, increased blood flow to the area will provide relief and help heal the soft tissue tear.
The fact that they mentioned it is a low injury is good news for you.

KoCrm, Thank you for your interest in King Brand and sorry to hear about your injury.

A 12 mm tear is pretty significant and may be difficult to heal fully on its own.  However, by keeping inflammation down and then using the BFST, you will provide at the very least some relief.  You will also heal more effectively then on your own without the treatments.  The knee itself has little blood flow to begin with, so with adding an injury and inflammation, that tissue isn't getting the nutrient rich blood it needs to heal.

One 20 minute treatment with the BFST will optimize the blood flow through the knee for a good 3-4 hours after.  3-5 treatments a day would be ideal to start the healing process.  I would suggest continuing with taping your knee to help with support throughout the day to day.  When you do receive the product, treat your other knee as well.  It is very common to injure your other knee due to over compensating.  Clicking in the knee generally is nothing too much to worry about as long as that click isn't associated with pain.  Once your knee gets more conditioned to the increased blood flow and a better range of motion, you may find the clicking isn't as bad.  Also, please remember to keep up with ColdCure therapy.  The less inflammation you have in the knee the better the BFST will work for you.

We wish you luck in your recovery and let us know if you have any further questions.

Questions & Answers About Our Products / Re: Post-Surgery Products?
« on: September 06, 2015, 06:39:23 PM »
We are sorry to hear you are still experiencing pain almost a year later.  Our products have proved themselves over and over again with people who are dealing with post surgery recovery, pre surgery relief and have helped many that are just not able to, or in many cases do not want surgery.

By keeping the inflammation down with the ColdCure, you are enabling the blood to flow through more freely. The BFST product promotes blood flow to the affected area using electro magnetic energy. By bringing in good, nutrient rich blood you are creating the best environment for your knee.  You will notice better range of motion and flexibility with the added stimulation.   This is a successful combination.

I would encourage you to take some time and read through some of our testimonials from customers that have bought the knee wrap.  They are recent and many refer to post surgery use.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

General Discussion / Re: Supplements for Meniscus
« on: August 20, 2015, 04:03:04 PM »
We do not recommend any supplements for healing soft tissue injuries.  That is something I would consider talking with your doctor about.
I know there are many anti-inflammatory supplements and foods that may be recommended, but nothing that we promote or suggest.

Thank you for your interest in our products and your enquiry about the technology behind Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy (BFST).

The BFST is a diathermic device that stimulates sub-dermal tissue. It will stimulate blood flow deep within the soft tissue, providing nutrient-rich blood and optimized blood flow to the area being treated. Diathermy is well recognized and accepted by the medical community as an effective means of promoting sub-dermal blood flow in order to speed up healing and recovery times.

Our Energy Webs produce Electro-Magnetic Energy (EMR) well below the more dangerous visible light frequencies, (within the ultra-safe bands of the EMR spectrum at very safe power levels), at a frequency that is far above the highly magnetic frequencies like Shortwave. We feel our technology is superior to Shortwave, Ultrasound, Microwave and IR LED.

During treatment some users experience a heating sensation, but the device is NOT a heating pad. A heating pad merely heats the surface of the skin whereas the BFST device penetrates deep below the skin to stimulate blood flow. BFST improves circulation and promotes faster healing - Heating pads don't.  There is still some heat produced by the device as a bi-product of generating our diathermic energy, but we are always trying to reduce this undesirable component of the process. That we design our product to produce as little heat as possible is the most significant difference between BFST and heating pad technology - The two technologies have diametrically opposed modes of operation.

I hope this information helps. Let us know if you have any further questions.

Also, when you have your gels are in the fridge or freezer, store them flat and not one on top of the other.  They will get colder faster this way.

Treatment Questions / Re: Tfcc partial tears
« on: July 15, 2015, 10:50:31 AM »
Sorry to hear about your injury. No, there is nothing wrong with doing cold all day.  However, just be sure to give yourself breaks in between long enough to regulate your blood flow again.  Cold slows it down and constant cold can cause the area to stiffen up and reduced blood

Once you start the BFST, a 20 minute treatment stimulates the blood flow for a good 3-4 hours afterwards.  Doing one treatment every 4 hours is sufficient to get optimal blood flow throughout the day. If you want to do more, that is fine but if you ever feel discomfort, that is a sign you are over doing it.  More treatments do not necessarily mean quicker healing. You need to condition your wrist to get used to the promoted blood flow.  I would recommend starting slowly and building yourself up.

In terms of how to tape, I would recommend going to YouTube and search how to tape TFCC injuries as there are many ways to tape the area.  Do what works for you.
As for other tips, just try to rest and really listen to your body.  Any time you are in more pain than normal, go back to the cold when needed. When feeling better, keep a routine of the BFST.  When doing PT, you may benefit from a BFST treatment before and be sure to put cold on after.

If you have any further questions, please let us know. We wish you all the best in your recovery.

Treatment Questions / Re: Healing good, BUT...
« on: June 04, 2015, 02:57:28 PM »
I am not sure. But since you said you do not have pain with it, I wouldn't be too worried about it.  If pain develops, I would go to your doctor.

What is normal and ok is really hard to say.  General popping and clicking without pain usually isnt anything to worry about. Since you are dealing with a meniscus injury it is probably caused from that.  The cushion between bones is damaged and could be causing some misalignment with your cartilage.  If it persists, I would get it checked out by a doctor.

If you do not feel any discomfort then it would be fine to continue use.

We recommend waiting until the inflammation is mostly gone.  You will see the quickest results and get the highest benefit from the BFST the less inflammation you have in the affected area.  Inflammation can act almost like a barrier and that nutrient rich blood flow you are stimulating won't fully reach the damaged tissues.

If at any time you experience discomfort after a BFST treatment, that is a good sign that there is too much inflammation. Discontinue BFST and go back to cold.

Yes, you can wear the tape as long as it lasts. You can still do your cold and BFST treatments overs it.
