Yes, it is absolutely normal for the LED lights on the battery pack itself to turn on and off during BFST treatments!

There are LED lights on the controller, or the part of the cord that connects the BFST and the battery together, with the white piece of plastic and power button. As long as the lights on the controller remain on throughout the treatment, it does not matter if the lights on the battery pack turn on and off.

There are a few factors that make the ColdCure different, and better, from other gel packs that you might purchase at the store.

Firstly, the ColdCure is a registered medical device, and it is FDA approved. It is made out of high quality, biocompatible materials and is designed to be very safe and effective.

The ColdCure uses a specific form of gel called Rigigel, which is designed to stay colder for longer than traditional gel packs - we estimate that the ColdCure gel packs hold about 10x more cold, and stay cold for at least 20-60 minutes. Rigigel is designed to be temperature balancing, so it will distribute cold evenly throughout the gel pack, preventing one part of the pack from getting warm before the rest of the pack.

Rigigel gel packs are also designed to stay at zero degrees celsius for safer treatments without the risk of frostbite or cold burns.

The ColdCure is designed to conform to your body. It comes in a design for many specific body parts, including the back and hip, shoulder, wrist, leg, knee, elbow, and foot. You can adjust the compression of the wrap to your liking.

Treatment Questions / Re: Is the BFST just a heating pad?
« on: August 16, 2023, 05:54:30 PM »
It's true that the BFST does produce some heat - however, that is not its main function. The BFST is designed to produce electromagnetic energy, and the heat you feel coming from the wrap is a byproduct of that energy. The warmth you feel from the BFST will not be as strong as what you would feel from a heating pad for a good reason - you'll typically feel warmth of a few degrees above body temperature.

Warmth or heat can lead to pain relief, but it can actually slow down the healing process. Heating pads tend to draw blood to pool nearer the surface of the skin, and that pooling blood can aggravate any existing inflammation. That's why the BFST is designed to produce less warmth. If you do use a traditional heating pad, it's best to use it for 10-15 minutes at a time.

The BFST uses electromagnetic energy to actually increase your blood flow and lead to healing the soft tissue. A regular heating pad can't actually help you to heal. The BFST provides all the pain relief that a heating pad would, and it works to heal the cause of that pain.

Treatment Questions / Re: How is the BFST different from a TENS unit?
« on: August 11, 2023, 05:54:29 PM »
The BFST is very different from a TENS unit in many ways. Primarily, a TENS unit works by producing electrical impulses that work to deaden your nerve endings to pain - it does not heal, it temporarily relieves pain. By repeatedly damaging the nerves, it can result in loss of sensation and muscle damage. You should only use a TENS unit at the suggestion of a physician to treat nerve issues.

The BFST works by producing electromagnetic energy, which works underneath the skin in the soft tissue, in order to increase the circulation. This increase in blood flow transports oxygenated blood and nutrients to the source of your pain, and it helps to actually heal the muscles, tendons, and ligaments. The BFST works not only to relieve your pain, but to heal your injury and strengthen the entire area you treat, which helps to prevent reinjury in the future.

You should always stay on the lowest level where you feel any amount of warmth, even a very slight warmth, coming from the BFST - typically, this means starting off on level one.

As your treatments with the BFST go on, you'll notice that the warmth you feel from the BFST will continue to get less and less. This is a good thing! It means that your circulation is increasing.

The way you'll know when you're ready to move up from level one to level two is when you don't feel any warmth, for an entire twenty minute treatment on level one. You should be feeling next to no warmth whatsoever for a whole twenty minute treatment before you move up to level two.

It's very important for the increase in circulation to be gradual, so it's a good idea to take your time moving up levels.

The answer is no, your pain and swelling do not have to be completely gone before you can use the BFST. For best results, you should use the ColdCure exclusively until you notice a definite decrease in pain and swelling. This indicates that your inflammation is decreasing, and the less inflammation you have, the more effective your BFST treatments will be.

If you notice an increase in swelling, or sharp pain, that may be a sign of inflammation. You can reduce this inflammation by using the ColdCure. To streamline your treatments, you can use the ColdCure first, then wait for your skin to warm up to body temperature, and then apply the BFST. BFST treatments should be spaced at least four hours apart.

Treatment Questions / Re: Does the BFST help arthritis?
« on: July 14, 2023, 04:21:50 PM »
The BFST is symptomatically effective on arthritis. This means that while the BFST can't actually heal the cause of arthritis, it can provide significant pain relief and management. The BFST increases your circulation, and by doing this, it provides oxygenated blood flow, which carries nutrients to the area you treat, and carries waste products away.

Each BFST treatment will continue to stimulate your blood flow for four hours, so using the BFST 3-4 times daily should result in pain relief from arthritis.

The ColdCure gel packs are intended to be kept in the fridge or freezer when not in use - that way, you'll always have access to a freshly cold gel pack.

If you won't be using your gel packs and want to store them outside of your fridge or freezer, please keep them enclosed in a ziploc bag in a cool, dry place. This will prevent your gel packs from drying out and make sure you get the most usage out of your ColdCure!

General Discussion / Re: Bottom of foot pain but mainly under the heels
« on: September 21, 2022, 03:11:34 PM »
Hi Bethesource,

We typically recommend using the BFST on bare skin, with about two fingers space between the wrap and your skin.

As for exercises or stretches, I don't have any specific stretches to recommend, but I do advise paying close attention to any pain signals your body may send you during exercises or stretching. Certain exercises or stretches can actually aggravate your injury further, so if you do an activity that causes pain or discomfort, I suggest listening to the pain and doing it less or not doing it at all.

I am not familiar with Xeroshoes, but after seeing their website, their shoes sound like they promote a healthier, more natural way of walking, so if those work for you - awesome!

I can tell you've definitely done your research and that you're very motivated to heal. Consistent use of the BFST will help to heal soft tissue injuries, so you are on the right track! :)

Hi Bethesource,

Welcome to the forum! I'm a treatment advisor with King Brand, and can answer any questions you may have. When it comes to plantar fasciitis, we have a couple of products that are highly effective at reducing pain on the bottom of the foot and the heel.

The Foot ColdCure Wrap is effective at reducing pain, swelling, and inflammation, and is used as an "as needed" treatment. Here's a link to that product. https://shop.kingbrand.com/product_info.php?tid=3013b5510b81112e129b396323f40077&xc=04bba1b70f8cdf1f2cc059419fc17e7323aecb70&xcu=1&products_id=200

The Plantar BFST Wrap is an electrical device that plugs into the wall, and produces electromagnetic energy to subdermally heal soft tissue injuries such as plantar fasciitis. It's intended to be used 3-4 times daily and treatments last 20 minutes. Here's a link to that product as well. https://shop.kingbrand.com/product_info.php?tid=3013b5510b81112e129b396323f40077&xc=04bba1b70f8cdf1f2cc059419fc17e7323aecb70&xcu=1&products_id=206

Please note that when you click on the product, you will be able to see a treatment zone showing in yellow the effective treatment area.

I hope this helps!
