To treat a Baker's Cyst, we recommend the Leg ColdCure wrap. The reason is because the Leg ColdCure wrap has an effective treatment area of 10" x 7", which is capable of wrapping around the back of the knee, and applying cold compression to the back of the knee, which is typically where a Baker's cyst is found.

The Knee ColdCure wrap can still be used to treat a Baker's cyst, it would just need to be rotated around so that the cold therapy applies to the back of the knee - the fit will not be ideal on the back of the knee, as the Knee ColdCure is designed specifically to treat the front of the knee.

The Leg ColdCure is most ideal for a Baker's cyst because it provides a better fit. The Leg ColdCure is a more versatile wrap and can be used to treat any area of the leg or hip.

You can find the products we recommend specifically to treat a Baker's cyst by clicking the link below.

You do not have to purchase the battery in order to use the BFST.

The BFST comes with everything you need to use it plugged into a wall outlet or an extension cord. The cord is about eight feet long.

The battery is a convenient accessory that makes it so that you can use the BFST anywhere that you don't have access to a wall outlet, like in the car.

This is a great question, and there are a few ways you can tell that you are making progress with your healing process.

You will feel your pain decrease gradually over time as you heal, and it should become easier to move around over time as well. Everyone is different, but many people feel a definite decrease in pain and more ease of movement around the third week of using the BFST 3-4x daily, if not sooner. If you have an older or more severe injury, it may take some additional time to feel these results. The more consistent you are with using the BFST 3-4x daily, the better your results will be.

There's another way you can tell that you are making healing progress. When you begin your treatments, you should use the BFST on level 1. As your treatments go on, you will notice that you feel less and less heat over time. That decrease in warmth is felt in response to your circulation increasing, which means that you are making healing progress. When the warmth has faded almost entirely and is barely there for an entire 20 minute treatment, that's how you know that your circulation has improved enough to move up to level 2.

The ColdCure gel packs are designed to stay at a safe temperature of zero degrees Celsius. If you have a powerful freezer, it may cause the gel packs to fall below zero degrees Celsius. They will be too stiff to bend easily when they are below zero degrees Celsius, so it's best to leave them on the counter for a few minutes, until they are still cold, but more pliable and able to be inserted into your ColdCure wrap.

Treatment Questions / Re: How will I know when I'm fully healed?
« on: August 14, 2024, 04:52:18 PM »
One crucial thing to know about the healing process is that when your pain has mostly gone, and you haven't had a flare up in a while, that indicates that your injury is about 30% healed. To ensure that your injury heals completely, continue using the BFST for a month or two after your pain has gone.

Other good indications of healing include when you can exercise and do normal activities without pain during or afterwards. When you notice that your range of motion is more normal, and your pain and swelling are completely gone, that also indicates that your injury is recovered. However, you can continue to use the BFST preventively by using it once a day, or maybe several times a week, in order to maintain the increase in circulation. This will keep the healed area strong and prevent reinjury.

To heal a torn meniscus, you need rest, cold therapy, and increased blood flow - all used at the correct time.

The ColdCure will reduce pain, swelling, and inflammation, and can be used for 20 minutes on and 20 minutes off at a time. Plenty of rest will also reduce inflammation, and give your meniscus an opportunity to heal.

The BFST will increase your circulation over time, which  leads to healing the soft tissue in the entire area that you treat. It helps to get oxygen and nutrients to the source of your pain, and to heal the meniscus over time.

Using KB Tape helps to support and stabilize your knee, and should be worn any time you're walking around or being active to prevent reinjury.

The Knee Recovery Pack, which can be found at the link below, includes everything we'd recommend to accelerate your healing and heal your torn meniscus for good.

Another option to treat the bicep, as well as many other parts of the body, is to use the Leg BFST and Leg ColdCure. These products have a larger coverage area, about 10" x 7", and can wrap around up to 24" total. This is a great option if you have a larger arm, or if you'd like to treat multiple different areas of the body.

The BFST does not pulsate or vibrate during treatments. You can expect to feel a gentle warming sensation during the twenty minute treatments - some people also feel a slight tingling, but not everyone experiences that.

The BFST produces electromagnetic energy in order to increase the circulation and heal the soft tissue - the warmth you feel is just a byproduct of that energy. The BFST is not like a TENS unit - TENS units use electrical stimulation to shock your nerve endings, and TENS units are not effective on soft tissue injuries. The BFST is very different - the treatments actually heal you rather than just treating the pain.

The link below contains detailed information about how the BFST works.

It is ok to do two BFST treatments in a row on the same area, but it will not help you to heal any faster than doing four regular treatments a day. The increase in blood flow lasts approximately four hours after each twenty minute treatment you do with the BFST, which is why about four treatments spaced four hours apart from each other a day is ideal. However, doing back to back treatments with the BFST may help symptomatically with the pain from conditions such as arthritis. To improve the longevity of your BFST, give the device five minutes to cool down in between treatments.

The Ankle BFST has a coverage area that treats the top and sides of the foot. You can view the treatment area by clicking the link below, and scrolling down until you see the treatment area shown in yellow.

The wrist BFST is the most versatile wrap when it comes to treating many different areas of the foot. It is in the shape of an 11" long rectangle with velcro at the end, which is used to fasten it and adjust the fit. It can wrap around almost any area of the foot or ankle, or, it can be laid flat on the floor, and you can gently rest your foot on top of it to treat the entire bottom of the foot including the toes. You can find the wrist BFST product by clicking the link below.

Treatment Questions / Re: Can the BFST heal a full/complete tear?
« on: June 12, 2024, 05:08:49 PM »
When you have a full/complete tear of the muscles, tendons, or ligaments, the tissue has been completely severed, leaving no place where it is still connected. This means that healing a complete tear is more difficult than healing a partial tear.

It is possible to heal a complete tear using the BFST, but it typically means a longer recovery time, typically 1-2 years, and it may still require surgery. Being consistent with the BFST by using it 3-4 times daily is essential. As always, everyone's bodies and injuries are different, so what is required to heal a partial tear may be different from person to person.

However, the BFST's main job is to increase your circulation, which results in healing and strengthening the soft tissue in the entire area that you treat. Even if you do end up needing to have surgery, you can use the BFST to assist your recovery after the procedure.

14
Absolutely! The BFST is very useful following a surgical procedure because it increases the blood flow in the entire area that you treat, which heals the muscles, tendons, ligaments, and soft tissue in general. The BFST can help to heal any damaged areas that are left over after the procedure. It will also strengthen the soft tissue, which makes reinjury less likely.

Following surgery, be sure to use cold therapy exclusively until you notice a definite decrease in pain and swelling, and that any incisions have had time to close up. Once you get to that point, you can start using the BFST to encourage faster healing. For best results, start with 20 minutes of using the ColdCure, then allow your skin to warm up to body temperature. Once your skin is no longer cool to the touch, you can apply the BFST for 20 minutes. You can repeat this process once 4 hours have passed since your last BFST treatment, and we suggest using the BFST 3-4x daily.

The Ankle BFST and Ankle ColdCure are ideal for treating peroneal tendonitis or peroneal tendon injuries. The coverage area of these wraps can be viewed by clicking the link below. They treat the top and sides of the foot. The ColdCure reduces inflammation, pain, and swelling, and the BFST increases blood flow, resulting in healing the muscles, tendons, and ligaments in the whole area that you treat.
