Professional Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome Treatment

Healing Solutions for Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome

You don't have to suffer. You don't have to wait.
  • You can reduce the pain and swelling.
  • You can heal quickly.
You simply need the right treatment.

Heal In Weeks Instead of Months

Recover Quickly with BFST

Have you ever noticed that professional athletes seem to recover from their injuries much faster than the general public? This is because they have professional athletic therapists who order them to follow a very specific regimen when it comes to treating their injuries. They are also instructed to rest the ankle as much as possible. They cut out physical activity and avoid putting any weight on the affected ankle by using crutches. The pro therapists ensure that the athlete supplements the healing process by stimulating blood flow many times each day. Regular blood flow treatments are a standard part of this therapy. The more we promote blood flow, the faster we will heal. That's why professional athletes are back in the game in a matter of days or weeks while patients with the same injuries take months or even years to heal. Add BFST® to your Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome treatment regimen to recover as quickly as a pro athlete.

The Ultimate Solution:

If you really want to get better, here's exactly what you need to do.

  • Wear a ColdCure® Wrap as much as possible to relieve your pain and swelling and protect your Tarsal Tunnel from further aggravation.
  • Do a BFST® treatment first thing every morning. Do 2 or 3 more BFST® treatments throughout the day. This will help you heal quickly.
  • Avoid re-straining your ankle as much as possible. Using KB Support Tape® will help with this. Resting your ankle is hard, but it is very important if you want to recover as quickly as possible.

The Treatment Process

BFST Achilles Wrap

Start with the ColdCure® Achilles Wrap to relieve your pain and reduce any swelling and inflammation. Use the ColdCure® Wrap in cycles of 20 minutes on followed by 20 minutes off for as long as you need. Continue doing ColdCure® treatments until any external swelling is gone and your pain is reduced.

You can start using the BFST® Achilles Wrap once the visible swelling is gone. The BFST® Wrap will work to promote additional blood flow in the affected area of your ankle, deep below the skin. This increase in blood flow helps to heal soft tissue damage. You may want to start with BFST® treatments that are only 5-10 minutes in length to see how your body reacts. If you still have a lot of internal inflammation, treatments may be quite hot, which means you should go back to using the ColdCure® Wrap. If you respond well to the 5-10 minute BFST® treatments, you can start doing treatments for the full 20 minutes. Try doing 3-4 full 20 minute BFST® treatments every day for best results.

Apply KB Support Tape any time you want extra support and protection for your ankle. This is especially important during physical activity. KB Support Tape is lightweight, comfortable and keeps you moving all day.

Blood Flow Is Essential For Healing

Improved Blood Flow with BFST

You don't have to wait. You can recover much more quickly with the right treatment. For Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome, blood flow is the most critical element in rapid recovery. Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy® (BFST®) gives your ankle the blood flow it needs to recover quickly.

BFST® brings oxygen and nutrient-rich blood to the affected area of your ankle. This increase in blood flow works to improve your Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome. Unfortunately, when at rest, an injured ankle has very limited blood flow. While physical activity promotes blood flow, it can also lead to re-injury and a worsened condition. With a BFST® Achilles Wrap, blood flow can be stimulated in your Tarsal Tunnel while you're at rest. With improved blood flow and without physical activity and the risk of
re-aggravating your ankle, you can recover from your Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome at a surprisingly rapid rate.

BFST® Devices are Electrical Medical Appliances that
actively stimulate blood flow in injured tissue.

BFST® devices help heal soft tissue.

BFST® stimulates blood flow through your ankle while you are at rest. This is very important because, while at rest, an unaided and inflamed ankle can otherwise have seriously impeded blood flow. It is the oxygen and nutrient-rich blood that enables the healing process, so adequate blood flow is required for you to recover from Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome properly and quickly.

BFST Achilles Wrap in Action

BFST® treatments are relaxing and pleasant -- they feel great. People often notice a slight tingling sensation and warmth deep in their ankle as the BFST® Wrap starts increasing their blood flow. The effects of each 20 minute BFST® treatment last for up to 4 hours, which is why we recommend spacing your treatments out throughout the day. For best results, do one treatment first thing in the morning, another treatment in the afternoon, a treatment in the evening, and the last treatment of the day right before bed.

Almost as important as the promotion of blood flow is the reminder of your condition. This is what helps you move with care so you don't
re-aggravate your Tarsal Tunnel, making your condition even worse. Avoiding re-injury is fundamental to rapid recovery. That's why the BFST® Achilles Wrap is designed to be worn between treatments. This will provide your ankle with light support and protection, while also acting as a reminder to take it easy.

Dealing With Pain

Tarsal Tunnel Treatment Without Drugs

Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome can be extremely painful and debilitating, causing us to rely on painkillers for relief. Common analgesics and NSAIDs such as ASA, acetaminophen or ibuprofen are often used to treat the pain, but these drugs do nothing to treat Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome itself. In fact, analgesics and NSAIDs are known blood thinners and make the bleeding worse for fresh tissue injuries. Typical pain medications actually interfere with the healing process. Cortisone injections are used in extreme cases but these too are intended to address the pain. They do not promote healing of the condition itself and they put you at a very high risk of further injury.

Painkillers Are BAD, Not Good

Painkillers mask the pain, making you feel a false sense of ability that can lead to further strain and irritation. If you do need to take painkillers, try to restrict them to times when you are off your feet. You can use painkillers to help you sleep. Using them when you are active is a recipe for permanent damage.

ColdCure® Wraps are a safe, effective alternative to painkillers. They do a superior job of relieving the pain and swelling associated with Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome. They also work faster than painkillers. While painkillers take 20 minutes to kick in, you will feel the soothing, cool relief of ColdCure® as soon as you put the wrap on. Avoid the dangers of painkillers. Use a ColdCure® Achilles Wrap from King Brand® Healthcare.

ColdCure® Devices Reduce Pain and Swelling

ColdCure® Devices are NOT typical cold or ice packs.

When it comes to relieving pain and controlling inflammation and swelling, nothing works better than our ColdCure® compression wrap.

ColdCure® technology was developed specifically to address the need for a cold compression device that does not freeze the skin or underlying tissue. ColdCure® gel packs pose no threat of cold burns or permanent tissue damage caused by freezing of the skin. This makes them much safer to use than other products that use ice. ColdCure® gel packs are completely safe to use for extended treatment durations, meaning faster relief of pain and swelling. Our ColdCure® technology is a huge improvement on regular ice packs.

Competitor Gel is Inferior to King Brand Rigigel Competitor Gel is Inferior to King Brand Rigigel

The ColdCure® Wrap comes with 3 swappable gel packs that contain our unique XC RigiGel® formula. Our gel is firm yet flexible, unlike other gel formulas that are mushy and watery. This means the gel holds its form and doesn't flow away from the affected area of your ankle. It won't move, even under heavy pressure for long periods of time. It always stays in place to treat your painful ankle. The gel packs are inserted inside the wrap one at a time, so you can have the other two charging in the freezer to keep your cold therapy going. Do your ColdCure® treatments in 20 minute intervals throughout the day, for as long as you need the relief.

The Medical Tape Advantage

What sets KB Support Tape apart from the rest? It's not athletic tape, it's medical tape. This means our Tape is manufactured to ISO 10993 standards, which ensures that our Tape is made from extremely safe, biocompatible materials. Our Tape is actually made from materials that are safer than most baby products, including diapers, toys and clothes. Don't let the big brand tapes fool you. Most of them are made from toxic materials, because there are no standards for athletic tape. Some big brand tape glues even contain carcinogenic ingredients. At King Brand®, your health and safety are of utmost importance, which is why KB Support Tape is manufactured to such high standards.

Combination Therapy BFST® + ColdCure® + KB Tape

BFST® for Rapid Healing
ColdCure® for Pain & Swelling
KB Tape to Prevent Re-Injury

Combination Therapy means using the right product at the right time. This is much more effective than just using one product at all times because each product addresses a specific issue. You have ColdCure® to relieve your pain and swelling, BFST® to promote blood flow and accelerate healing, and KB Support Tape for protection and re-injury prevention, resulting in the absolute best treatment for your Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome.

When to Use the BFST® Wrap

The BFST® Wrap is designed to accelerate healing. Use the BFST® Wrap when you don't have any inflammation or visible swelling, and pain is at a minimum. The most important treatments are first thing in the morning and right before you go to bed. The treatment first thing in the morning will act as a "warm-up" for your ankle, and the treatment right before bed will help your circulation improve as you sleep.

Start your BFST® treatments on Level 1. Try to do a treatment every 4 hours, or before any type of physical activity that puts a strain on your ankle (walking, standing for extended periods). This can also be used for preventative measures after a full recovery to optimize your blood flow.

Combination Therapy is Coldcure and BFST Together

In order to help your body become accustomed to the increase in blood flow, you may want to start with BFST® treatments that are only
5-10 minutes in length. See how your body responds to the 5-10 minute treatments. If the treatments feel really hot or if you experience an increase in pain and/or swelling during or after the treatments, this means you still have internal inflammation and should go back to using ColdCure®. If your body responds well, you can start doing treatments for the full 20 minutes.

When to Use the ColdCure® Wrap

The ColdCure® is designed to relieve pain, swelling and inflammation. Use the ColdCure® Wrap any time you are experiencing visible swelling and/or significant pain. This could be immediately upon injury or during a flare-up of swelling and/or pain. ColdCure® does an amazing job of relieving pain -- some of our customers have described ColdCure® as "sucking the pain" right out of their body. ColdCure® treatments help to reduce any visible swelling you may see on the surface, as well as the inflammation you may have and cannot see, deep down in the soft tissue.

Do a ColdCure® treatment immediately after any physical activity to help reduce inflammation and prevent re-injury.

Wait 30-45 minutes after your ColdCure® treatment before following with a BFST® treatment. This time will allow the blood flow and body temperature to regulate again.

When to Use KB Support Tape

KB Support Tape is designed to provide tissue with extra support, and also helps prevent re-injury. KB Support Tape can be worn any time -- even during your BFST®* and ColdCure® treatments, but it is most important during physical activity. It provides additional support and protection, working to prevent re-injury.

*While the KB Support Tape can be worn during your BFST® treatments, you will lose a small amount of effectiveness due to the barrier the Tape creates. If you are taping and doing multiple BFST® treatments throughout the day, do your first treatment before the Tape is applied and your last treatment after the Tape has been removed at the end of the day.

Medical Function - BFST® Wrap - Accelerated Healing

BFST® Wraps are FDA Registered Class II medical devices. BFST® Wraps are designed, manufactured and tested to very high standards of quality, safety and performance. They comply with hundreds of pages of regulations and standards put forth by the FDA and Health Canada to keep you safe and ensure effective treatments. King Brand Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy Action Manufacturers of consumer grade products can't say the same.

The Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy® (BFST®) Wrap is designed to promote blood flow in injured tissue below the dermal (fat and skin) layer. Utilizing our proprietary Energy Web®, specially controlled and incredibly safe levels of EMR energy envelop your Tarsal Tunnel area, stimulating blood flow in the soft tissue deep beneath the skin. The resulting stimulation brings oxygen and nutrient-rich blood to your Tarsal Tunnel, accelerating the healing process.

BFST Power Controller

BFST® Wraps come with a 3 level power controller. Everyone should start their treatments on Level 1 and work their way through the levels gradually as their circulation improves. Proceeding immediately to Level 2 or 3 will not speed up your healing time. You need to condition the body first.

During your first few treatments on Level 1, your ankle area will feel quite warm. This is because, at first, your circulation is poor. The more treatments you do, the less warming sensation you will feel. This is good. As the warmth lessens from treatment to treatment, this is an indication that the circulation in your foot and ankle is improving. Better circulation means blood flow all the time, not just during treatments. This is the goal. When you feel very little warmth during a treatment, it is time to move up to the next power level. Don't rush it though -- more heat does not mean better treatment. In fact, less heat means better treatment, so take your time moving up in levels.

BFST® Wraps are far superior to heating pads. BFST® Wraps work to improve your circulation by bringing additional blood flow to the soft tissues deep below the skin. Heating pads can't do this. All heating pads do is bring blood to the surface of your skin, making it hot to the touch. This doesn't do anything to improve your blood flow. There is a huge difference between a BFST® Wrap and a heating pad.

The Energy Web® of the BFST® device is enclosed inside a soft, comfortable neoprene wrap. The wrap shapes the Energy Web® to mold around your ankle, to ensure there is an even distribution of energy over the Tarsal Tunnel area. The wrap is opened and closed using attached Velcro® straps that allow you to customize the fit. When your treatment ends, you don't need to remove the wrap. Simply unplug the controller and gently tighten the wrap to provide your Tarsal Tunnel with snug support and protection.

Complete the Healing Process

Complete the Recovery Process

When you are recovering from Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome, the pain ends long before the recovery process is over. In fact, the pain is usually gone once you're about 20%-30% healed. The entire healing process is very complex, and much longer than most people realize. (You can click here for the full story). The key thing to remember is that once the pain is gone, the recovery process is not over. This means you need to keep doing BFST® treatments in order to complete the healing process. Doing regular BFST® treatments for several months after the pain is gone is extremely beneficial. Do a BFST® treatment prior to any physical activity. This will act as a warm-up for your circulatory system and help maintain the healing you've done.

Medical Function - ColdCure® Wrap - Extreme Pain Relief

ColdCure® Wraps are FDA Registered Class I medical devices. Cold and compression applied to an ankle with Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome reduces the risk of further damage from excessive swelling. Doctors and Therapists agree that controlling swelling is a fundamental part of reducing the long term, permanent damage that can result from conditions like Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome. The ColdCure® Wrap exceeds all government and health agency regulatory requirements for cold therapy.

ColdCure® RigiGel® packs are much safer and more effective than ice and products that use mushy blue gel. Why? Because RigiGel® packs are like ice, but they stay at 32°F / 0°C. While they may start at about -4°F / -20°C straight from the freezer, after a few minutes they will go to 32°F / 0°C and stay at 32°F / 0°C for a long time. ColdCure Safe Temperature This is the ideal temperature for cold therapy, because it's cold enough to relieve your pain and swelling, but safe enough to not cause cold burns. Ice and blue gel packs will also start out at -4°F / -20°C and rapidly go to 32°F / 0°C, but then their temperature will keep rising quickly, instead of staying in the safe, effective zone of 32°F / 0°C.

While XC Gel® packs are designed to be stored in the freezer, you can store them in the fridge if you find them too cold from the freezer. Not all freezers are the same. If you find that the gel is too stiff from the freezer, leave it out for several minutes before inserting it inside the wrap. When the pack is soft enough to bend, it's safe and ready to use for treatment.

Rest, Cold, Compression, Elevation

Many people follow the RICE - Rest, Ice, Compression & Elevation - method when treating a soft tissue injury. Most of these people probably aren't aware of the serious dangers that ice can pose. Ice can freeze your skin and numb your nerves, causing 'cold burns' and even permanent damage to your skin and underlying tissue. The proper solution is RCCE® - Rest, Cold, Compression & Elevation. We don't want to apply ice -- we want to apply cold that is just above freezing. Yes, you want cold -- and lots of it -- but not so cold that it is below the freezing point of water.

3x More Gel and 10x More Cold

XC Gel® packs contain 3x more gel per lb than other products, for complete coverage of the Tarsal Tunnel area. When stored in the freezer, XC Gel® packs have 10x more cooling power than other products, meaning faster relief of pain and swelling. This also means less time spent getting up to swap out the packs. Bigger packs with more gel inside, plus superior cooling power, means an overall better, more effective treatment.

Ankle, Achilles & Foot Coverage Zones

ColdCure® gel packs are custom designed for the shape of the area you're treating. The Achilles gel pack targets the Tarsal Tunnel area to ensure complete coverage of the affected area. The design of our gel packs ensures that your ankle receives an even distribution of cooling power, every time. We don't just use one generic shaped gel pack with all of our ColdCure® Wraps. Every part of the body is uniquely shaped, which is why every one of our gel packs is uniquely shaped too.

Unique XC RigiGel® Formula

ColdCure Eliminates Hot Spots

Regular gel packs are notorious for having hot and cold spots. Our XC RigiGel® packs help to distribute the cold energy evenly throughout the pack. When cold pressure is applied to an ankle with Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome, the gel starts to warm up in that specific spot faster than the rest of the pack. The cold energy is transferred from the cold spots to the warm spots much more effectively. This is a valuable improvement as your hot, swollen ankle will receive the cooling power of the entire gel pack. The temperature-balancing power of this gel formula is unmatched.

XC Gel® packs have 2 different colored sides: a white side and a gold side. They can be inserted inside the wrap with the white side facing either towards or away from your ankle, as both sides have the same amazing XC RigiGel® benefits.
