ColdCure® Devices Reduce Pain and Swelling.
ColdCure® Devices are NOT typical cold or ice packs.
For dealing with the pain and swelling that comes with a Shoulder Injury, nothing works better than cold and compression.
ColdCure® technology was developed specifically to address the need for a cold compression device that does not freeze the skin and underlying tissue. ColdCure® gel packs pose no threat of cold burns. This makes them much safer to use than products that contain ice, which can cause the skin to freeze, leading to permanent damage. Our gel packs are completely safe to use for extended treatment durations, meaning faster relief of pain and swelling. Our ColdCure® technology is a huge improvement on regular ice packs.
The ColdCure® Shoulder Wrap comes with 3 swappable gel packs that contain our unique XC RigiGel® formula. XC RigiGel® holds its form and doesn't move around inside the pack, meaning it always stays in place to treat your Shoulder Injury. The gel is firm yet flexible, meaning comfortable and consistent treatments. Our gel won't move, even under heavy pressure for long periods of time. The gel packs are inserted inside the wrap one at a time, so you can have the other two charging in the freezer to keep your therapy going. Do a 20 minute ColdCure® treatment followed by 20 minutes of rest. Cycles treatments like this throughout the day, or as long as you need the relief.
Protect Your Shoulder Between Treatments
When you're not doing treatments with your BFST® or ColdCure® Wrap, your shoulder becomes vulnerable to further damage. You don't want to re-injure your already fragile tissue and make your Shoulder Injury worse. Wear KB Support Tape on your shoulder between BFST® and ColdCure® treatments. This will provide your damaged tissue with additional support and protection.
Our skin is soft and elastic and can stretch much more than the tissue underneath. When you apply KB Support Tape to your skin, it becomes a much more rigid surface than before, serving to limit how much the skin can stretch. The Tape makes your skin a source of outside support to hold your tissue in place, helping to prevent re-injury. That's why we call it armor for your injury.
KB Support Tape - Use All Day During Work & Play
Apply KB Support Tape to your Shoulder between BFST® and ColdCure® Wrap treatments. This will provide your shoulder with ongoing compression to relieve your swelling throughout the day. It will also prevent re-injury by providing support and protection for your injured tissue when you're not doing treatments.
KB Support Tape comes in 2 different sizes: 2 inch wide and 3 inch wide. The 2 inch wide variety is ideal for smaller areas (Foot, Wrist), while the 3 inch wide style is better for larger areas (Back, Shoulder). This also works for your size. Bigger people will prefer the 3 inch wide Tape, while smaller people will prefer the 2 inch wide Tape.
The 2 inch wide Tape comes in 4 different colors: Pink, Blue, Black & Beige. The 3 inch wide Tape comes in Black & Beige. There is no functional difference between the colors, they just allow you to express your individual style.
While the 2 inch wide Tape is available in both Pre-Cut Strips and a Continuous Roll, the 3 inch wide Tape comes in a Continuous Roll only.
The Pre-Cut Strips of KB Support Tape are perfect for people who want tape that's quick and easy. Since they're already cut into ready-to-use strips, you can apply and go! Each roll of Pre-Cut KB Support Tape contains 20 individual strips. Each Pre-Cut Strip is 2 inches wide and 10 inches long.
The Continuous Rolls of KB Support Tape are ideal for people who are looking for a more customizable tape. You can cut the tape into a variety of different lengths and sizes to achieve a completely unique application for your Shoulder Injury. Each box contains 1 Continuous Roll of KB Support Tape that is either 2 inches or 3 inches wide and 16 feet long.
While we found the above applications effective for Bicep Tendonitis and Supraspinatus or Infraspinatus Injuries, they're only suggestions. We encourage you to experiment with different applications for your specific Shoulder Injury to find the one that works best for you. Use the pain as a guide. If you feel pain in a specific area of your shoulder, apply the Tape there.
The Medical Tape Advantage
What sets KB Support Tape apart from other tapes? It's not athletic tape, it's medical tape. This means our Tape is manufactured to ISO 10993 standards, which ensures that our Tape is made from extremely safe, biocompatible materials. Our Tape is actually made from materials that are safer than most baby products, including diapers, toys and clothing. Don't let the big brand tapes fool you! Most of them are made from toxic materials, because there are no standards for athletic tape. Some big brand athletic tape glues even contain carcinogenic ingredients. At King Brand®, your health and safety is of utmost importance, which is why KB Support Tape is manufactured to such high standards.
Top or Side Shoulder?
We have two different Shoulder Wraps that target two different areas. It all depends on where your Shoulder Injury is located. Generally speaking, if you have a Supraspinatus or Infraspinatus injury, a Labrum Tear, or a case of Frozen Shoulder, you should use the Top Shoulder Wraps. If you have Upper Bicep Tendonitis or a Deltoid injury, you should use the Side Shoulder Wraps. It all depends on what area you need to target. Rotator Cuff injuries are a little more tricky, as it depends on which part of the Rotator Cuff is injured. Pay attention to where the pain is. Is it closer to the "top" or the "side"? Take a look at the coverage zone image above to determine which wrap would best target your injury.

Combination Therapy BFST® + ColdCure® Treatments
for Rapid Healing
for Pain & Swelling
to Prevent Re-Injury
Combination Therapy means using ColdCure® and BFST® in combination by alternating treatments, as well as using KB Support Tape between your treatments. Combination Therapy is much more effective than using just one treatment or the other. This is because you're getting the pain and swelling relief of ColdCure®, the healing benefits of BFST®, and the protection and re-injury prevention of KB Support Tape, resulting in the absolute best treatment for your Shoulder Injury.
Use the ColdCure® Wrap several times a day to help reduce not only the visible swelling you may see on the surface, but also the inflammation you may have and cannot see, deep down in the soft tissue.
Avoid using the BFST® Wrap until your inflammation and swelling has subsided. Start your BFST® treatments on Level 1. For maximum benefit, please take into consideration that each 20 minute treatment optimizes your blood circulation for an average of 4 hours. We recommend 3-4 treatments daily, spread throughout the day. During the day, do a BFST® treatment every 4 hours or before any type of physical activity. This can include anything that puts a strain on the injured area (reaching, lifting, etc). This can also be used for preventative measures after a full recovery to optimize your blood flow.
Do a ColdCure® treatment any time you experience a pain flare-up or after any physical activity to prevent further injury and reduce swelling and inflammation. Follow with another BFST® treatment 30-45 minutes after your ColdCure® treatment. This time will allow your blood flow and body temperature to regulate again. Refrain from using ColdCure® within the 4 hours following your 20 minute BFST® treatment. This will counteract the treatment. If necessary, use the ColdCure® Wrap for pain control, then follow-up with another BFST® treatment.
Any time you're not doing a ColdCure® or BFST® treatment, wear KB Support Tape on your shoulder. If you're taping and doing multiple BFST® treatments throughout the day, do your first BFST® treatment before the Tape is applied and your last treatment after the Tape has been removed at the end of the day.

Medical Function - BFST® Wrap - Accelerated Healing
BFST® Wraps are FDA Registered Class II medical devices. This means they meet hundreds of pages of regulations and standards that are in place to keep you safe and ensure effective treatments. These devices have been designed, manufactured and tested to extremely high standards of quality, safety and performance. Manufacturers of consumer grade products can't say the same, because they're not FDA Registered.
The BFST® (Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy®) Wrap is designed to promote blood flow in injured tissue below the dermal (fat and skin) layer. Utilizing our proprietary Energy Web®, specially controlled and incredibly safe levels of EMR energy envelop your injured shoulder and stimulate blood flow in the soft tissue deep beneath the skin. The resulting stimulation brings oxygen and nutrient-rich blood to the injured area, accelerating the healing process.
BFST® Wraps come with a 3 level power controller. Everyone should start their treatments on Level 1 and work their way through the levels gradually as they heal. Proceeding immediately to Level 2 or 3 will not speed up your healing time. You need to condition the body first.
During your first treatments on Level 1, your shoulder will feel quite warm. This is because, at first, your circulation is poor. The more treatments you do, the less warming sensation you will feel. This is good. As the warmth lessens from treatment to treatment, this is an indication that the circulation in your shoulder is improving. Better circulation means blood flow all the time, not just during treatments. This is the goal. When you feel very little warmth during a treatment, it is time to move up to the next level. Don't rush it though, more heat does not mean better treatment. In fact, less heat means better treatment, so take your time moving up in levels.
BFST® Wraps have far more benefits than heating pads. For one, BFST® Wraps actually work to heal soft tissue damage. BFST® penetrates deep below your skin to stimulate blood flow in the area of your injury. This increase in blood flow helps to heal your injury. All heating pads do is bring blood to the surface of your skin, making it hot to the touch. The difference is huge.
The Energy Web® of the BFST® Shoulder device is enclosed in a soft, comfortable neoprene wrap. The wrap shapes the Energy Web® to mold around the Top or Side of your shoulder to ensure there is an even distribution of energy over the injured area. The wrap has attachable Velcro® straps that ensure a perfect fit. After treatment the wrap can be further tightened to provide snug support and protection for your shoulder.
Complete the Healing Process
When you have a Shoulder Injury, the pain ends long before you've actually finished healing. In fact, the pain is usually gone once you're about 20%-30% healed. The healing process is very complex and takes much longer than most people realize. (You can click here for the full story.) The key thing to remember is that long after the pain stops, your shoulder is still healing. This means you need to keep doing BFST® treatments in order to complete the healing process. Doing regular BFST® treatments for months after the pain is gone is extremely beneficial. Do a BFST® treatment prior to any physical activity. This will act as a warm-up for your circulatory system. You should also continue taping your shoulder to help prevent re-injury.
Medical Function - ColdCure® Wrap - Extreme Pain Relief
ColdCure® Wraps are Class I FDA Registered medical devices. Cold and compression applied to a Shoulder Injury immediately reduces the risk of further damage from excessive swelling. Doctors and Therapists agree that controlling swelling is a fundamental part of reducing long-term permanent damage resulting from a soft tissue injury. ColdCure® Wraps exceed all government and health agency regulatory requirements for cold therapy, specifically for use in treating soft tissue injuries.
ColdCure® RigiGel® packs are much safer and more effective than ice and products that use gooey blue gel. Why? Because RigiGel® packs are like ice, but they stay at 32°F / 0°C. While they may start at about -4°F / -20°C straight from the freezer, after a few minutes they will go to 32°F / 0°C and stay at
32°F / 0°C for a long time. This is the ideal temperature for cold therapy, because it's cold enough to relieve your pain and swelling, but safe enough to not cause cold burns. Ice and blue gel packs will also start out at -4°F / -20°C and rapidly go to 32°F / 0°C, but then they will quickly warm up instead of staying in the safe, effective zone of 32°F / 0°C. The XC Gel® danger zone is very small, but the benefits are huge.
While XC Gel® packs are designed to be stored in the freezer, you can store them in the fridge if you find them too cold from the freezer. If you find that the gel is too stiff from the freezer, leave it out for several minutes before inserting it inside the wrap. Once the pack is soft enough to bend, it's ready to use for treatment.
Most people think that RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) is the method to follow when treating a soft tissue injury. The truth is that ice can actually freeze your skin and numb your nerves, causing 'cold burns' and even permanent damage to your underlying tissue. The proper solution is actually RCCE® (Rest, Cold, Compression, Elevation). You don't want to apply ice, you want to apply cold that is just above freezing. Yes, you want cold - and lots of it - but not so cold that it is below the freezing point of water.
XC Gel® packs contain 3x more gel per lb than other products. This means maximum coverage of your shoulder injury. When stored in the freezer, our gel packs also have 10x more cooling power than other products. This means faster relief of pain and swelling. It also means longer treatment times without having to swap the gel packs as often. Bigger packs with more gel inside plus superior cooling power means an overall better, more effective cold treatment.
ColdCure® Shoulder gel packs are custom designed to conform to either the Top or Side of your shoulder, so you get an even distribution of cooling power over your Shoulder Injury. They also come with 3 Extension Straps that allow you to find the perfect fit for your shoulder. Every one of our ColdCure® Wraps comes with gel packs that are specially designed for the body part they're intended to treat. Every body part is uniquely shaped, which is why all of our gel packs are uniquely shaped too. This product has 100% been designed to treat Shoulder Injuries.
XC RigiGel® Means No Hot Spots!
Gel packs are notorious for having hot and cold spots. Our XC RigiGel® formula helps to distribute the cold energy evenly throughout the gel pack. When cold pressure is applied to a shoulder injury, the gel starts to warm up in that specific spot faster than the rest of the pack. The cold energy in our gel packs is transferred from the cold spots to the warm spots much more effectively. This is a valuable improvement as your painful shoulder will receive the cooling power of the entire gel pack, every time. The temperature-balancing power of our gel formula is unmatched.
XC Gel® packs have 2 different colored sides: a white side and a gold side. Both sides will give you all the same benefits that our high-performance XC RigiGel® formula has to offer. The gel packs can be inserted inside the wrap with the white side facing towards your shoulder or away from your shoulder as XC Gel® gel packs are not side specific.
NEW Accessory Sling to Immobilize Your Shoulder
Avoid re-injury and a lengthened recovery time by using the King Brand® Accessory Sling. The Accessory Sling is designed to immobilize your shoulder and arm, helping you avoid the painful movements that can lead to re-injury. Shoulder injuries generally take so long to heal because even the smallest of movements can cause further tissue damage. The Accessory Sling solves this problem by limiting movement of the injured area, which greatly contributes to a faster healing time.
The Accessory Sling can be attached anywhere on your Shoulder Wrap. It's completely customizable to suit your needs. It's also one size fits all and can be worn on your right or left arm. Being able to have your arm in a sling while your shoulder receives cold therapy or additional blood flow is a huge deal, and you can only do this with our Shoulder Wraps and Accessory Sling. This is the ultimate treatment solution for your injured shoulder.
Please note that the Accessory Sling cannot be used on its own or with any products other than the BFST® and ColdCure® Shoulder Wraps.
