Deltoid Injury Treatment
Healing Solutions For Serious Deltoid Muscle Injuries
You don't have to suffer. You don't have to wait.
You simply need the right treatment.
- You can reduce the pain and swelling.
- You can heal quickly.
One Super Important Fact:
Deltoid injuries will not heal from stretching exercises. Stretching exercises are what prevent the deltoid muscle from healing properly. To truly begin the healing process, you need to relax and rest. Only then you will begin to feel better.
The products below ARE FDA Registered medical devices. These products and treatments ARE intended to prevent, treat and cure Deltoid injuries and their related pain.
Rapid Recovery For Deltoid Injuries
Deltoid injuries are most commonly caused by overuse of the Deltoid muscle without sufficient rest. When you have a Deltoid injury, even the slightest movement in the wrong direction can cause severe pain and further damage. Resting the shoulder is key when trying to heal a Deltoid injury, but completely immobilizing the shoulder is almost impossible. Thankfully, King Brand® has the tools that you need in order to relieve your pain, speed up the healing process and prevent further injury.
The Ultimate Solution:
If you really want to get better, here's exactly what you need to do.
- Wear a ColdCure® Wrap as much as possible to relieve your pain and swelling and protect your Deltoid from further damage.
- Do a BFST® treatment first thing every morning. Do 2 or 3 more BFST® treatments throughout the day. This will help you heal quickly.
- Avoid re-straining your Deltoid as much as possible. Using the Accessory Sling and wearing KB Support Tape will help with this. Giving your shoulder a rest is hard, but it is very important in the early stages of healing.
Do this and your Deltoid Injury can truly heal - finally.
Blood Flow Is Essential For Healing
You don't have to wait for endless months in pain. You can heal much more quickly with the right treatment. For a Deltoid Injury, blood flow is the most critical element in rapid recovery. Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy® (BFST®) gives your Deltoid muscle the blood flow it needs to heal quickly and completely.
BFST® brings oxygen and nutrient-rich blood to your injured Deltoid - a requirement for the body to heal itself. Unfortunately, an injured Deltoid at rest often has restricted blood flow, which in turn limits the body's ability to heal. Physical activity will promote blood flow but all too often it also results in small but frequent re-injury, which extends your healing time and greatly increases the amount of scar tissue that develops. With a King Brand® BFST® Shoulder Wrap, blood flow can be stimulated in your injured Deltoid while you are at rest. With improved blood flow and without physical activity and the risk of re-injury, you can recover from your Deltoid injury at a surprisingly rapid rate.
BFST® Devices are Electrical Medical Appliances that
actively stimulate blood flow in injured tissue.
BFST® devices heal soft tissue.
BFST® stimulates blood flow through your injured Deltoid while you are at rest. This is very important because while at rest, an unaided and inflamed Deltoid muscle can otherwise have seriously impeded blood flow. It is the oxygen and nutrient-rich blood that enables the healing process, so adequate blood flow is required for the injured tissue to heal properly and quickly.
BFST® treatments feel great. They're incredibly pleasant and relaxing. People often notice a slight tingling sensation and warmth deep in their Deltoid as the BFST® starts the blood flowing. Since the effects of each 20 minute BFST® treatment last for up to 4 hours, we recommend you spread your treatments out over the day. Do 3-4 BFST® treatments every day for best results. Since you'll be at rest during treatments, they're a great time to catch up on activities such as reading, watching TV and surfing the internet.
Almost as important as the promotion of blood flow is the reminder of your injury. The reminder is what helps you move with care so you don't accidentally overdo it and cause further damage to your Deltoid. Avoiding re-injury is fundamental to rapid recovery. That's why we recommend that you wear your BFST® Shoulder Wrap between treatments. When your treatment ends, simply unplug the controller from the device and tighten the wrap to your shoulder. This will act as a reminder of your injury and provide your Deltoid with light support and protection.
Dealing with Pain
Deltoid injuries can be extremely painful and debilitating. Analgesics and NSAIDs such as ASA, acetaminophen and ibuprofen are often used to treat the pain but these drugs do nothing to treat the actual condition. In fact, analgesics and NSAIDs are known blood thinners and make the bleeding worse for fresh tissue injuries. Typical pain medications actually interfere with the healing process. Cortisone injections are used in extreme cases but these too are intended to address the pain. They do not promote healing of the injury and they put you at a very high risk of further injury.
Painkillers are BAD, Not Good
Painkillers mask the pain. Without fail this causes people to overstress and re-injure their Deltoid. This only makes things worse. It is understandable that people need relief from the pain, so if you have to take painkillers, try to restrict them to times when you're at rest. You can use painkillers to help you sleep. Using them when you are active is a recipe for permanent damage.
ColdCure® Wraps do a superior job of relieving the pain and inflammation associated with Deltoid Injuries, without any of the negative aspects of painkillers. Not only are ColdCure® Wraps both safer and more effective than painkillers, they also work faster. As soon as you apply the ColdCure® Wrap to your shoulder, you will feel the cool, soothing relief as it absorbs the pain and tension. With painkillers, you have to wait 20 minutes for the effects to kick in.
ColdCure® Devices Reduce Pain and Swelling
ColdCure® Devices are NOT typical cold or ice packs.
For dealing with the swelling and pain that comes with a Deltoid Injury, nothing works better than cold and compression.
ColdCure® technology was developed specifically to address the need for a cold compression device that does not freeze the skin and underlying tissue. Our gel packs will not cause cold burns, making them much safer to use than other products that use ice, which can cause the skin to freeze, leading to permanent damage. ColdCure® gel packs are completely safe to use for extended treatment durations, meaning faster relief of pain and swelling. Our ColdCure® technology is a huge improvement on regular ice packs.
ColdCure® Shoulder Wraps are made entirely of very stretchy material. They come with 3 swappable cold packs that contain our unique XC RigiGel® formula. XC RigiGel® is firm yet flexible, meaning it always stays in place. It conforms to your shoulder for an even, consistent treatment every time. It won't move away from your Deltoid, even when put under heavy pressure. The gel packs are inserted inside the wrap one at a time, so you can have the other two charging in the freezer to keep your therapy going. Do your ColdCure® treatments in 20 minute intervals throughout the day, or as long as you need the relief.
3 Extension Straps Included
For a Customized Fit
Every Side Shoulder Wrap comes with 3 Extension Straps that you can attach to customize the fit of your wrap. This makes it easy to find the perfect fit for your unique body shape. Some people won't need much extension, while some people will need more, which is why we include a Small Strap, a Medium Strap and a Large Strap with every Side Shoulder Wrap.
Accessory Sling to Immobilize Your Shoulder
Trying to keep your shoulder immobile when you have a Deltoid injury is difficult, but it's important if you want to avoid further damage. That's why we designed the Accessory Sling. Simply attach the Accessory Sling to your BFST® or ColdCure® Shoulder Wrap to limit the movement of your arm and shoulder.
The Accessory Sling does an amazing job of taking the weight of your arm off your injured shoulder. Taking the tension off your Deltoid is a huge relief, and also further helps to prevent re-injury.
The Accessory Sling is easy to use and totally customizable. You can wear it on your left arm or right arm, and the Velcro® will attach anywhere on your Shoulder Wrap. These unique products allow you to do blood flow stimulation therapy or cold therapy while your arm is in a Sling. You can only find these products at King Brand®.
Please note that the Accessory Sling cannot be used on its own or with any products other than the BFST® and ColdCure® Shoulder Wraps.
Protect Your Deltoid Between Treatments
When you're not doing treatments with your ColdCure® or BFST® Wrap, your injured tissue is vulnerable to further damage. You don't want to re-injure your already fragile tissue and make your Deltoid injury worse. Apply KB Support Tape between your ColdCure® and BFST® treatments to provide your Deltoid with extra support and protection.
Our skin is soft and elastic and can stretch much more than the tissue underneath. When you apply KB Support Tape to your skin, it becomes a much more rigid surface than before, serving to limit how much the skin can stretch. The Tape makes your skin a source of outside support to hold your tissue in place, helping you avoid re-injury. That's why we call it armor for your injury.
KB Support Tape - Use All Day During Work & Play
Apply KB Support Tape to your Deltoid between BFST® and ColdCure® Wrap treatments. This will provide your shoulder with ongoing compression to relieve your swelling throughout the day. It will also prevent re-injury by providing support and protection for your injured tissue when you're not doing treatments.
KB Support Tape is available in 2 styles: Pre-Cut Strips and a Continuous Roll. These 2 styles come in 4 different colors: Pink, Blue, Black & Beige. There's no functional difference between the colors, they just allow you to express your personal style.
The Pre-Cut Strips of KB Support Tape are perfect for people who want tape that's quick and easy. Since they're already cut into ready-to-use strips, you can apply and go! Each roll of Pre-Cut KB Support Tape contains 20 individual strips. Each Pre-Cut Strip is 2 inches wide and 10 inches long.
The Continuous Rolls of KB Support Tape are ideal for people who are looking for a more customizable tape. You can cut the tape into a variety of different shapes and sizes to achieve a completely unique application for your injury. Each box contains 1 Continuous Roll of KB Support Tape that is 2 inches wide and 16 feet long.
The application image above was applied over clothing for demonstration purposes only - when you apply the tape to your shoulder, you will be applying it directly to your skin.
While we found the above application effective for Deltoid injuries, it's only a suggestion. We encourage you to experiment with different applications for Deltoid injuries to find the one that works best for you. Use the pain as a guide. If you feel pain in a specific area of your shoulder, apply the Tape there.
The Medical Tape Advantage
What sets KB Support Tape apart from the rest? It's not athletic tape, it's medical tape. This means our Tape is manufactured to ISO 10993 standards, which ensures that our Tape is made from extremely safe, biocompatible materials. Our Tape is actually made from materials that are safer than most baby products, including diapers, toys and clothing. Don't let the big brand tapes fool you. Most of them are made from toxic materials, because there are no standards for athletic tape. Some big brand tape glues even contain carcinogenic ingredients. At King Brand®, your health and safety is of utmost importance, which is why KB Support Tape is manufactured to such high standards.

Combination Therapy BFST® + ColdCure® Treatments
for Rapid Healing
for Pain & Swelling
KB Support Tape
to Prevent Re-Injury
Combination Therapy means using ColdCure® and BFST® in combination by alternating treatments, as well as using KB Support Tape between your treatments. Combination Therapy is much more effective than using just one product or the other. This is because you're getting the pain and swelling relief of ColdCure®, the healing benefits of BFST®, and the protection and re-injury prevention of KB Support Tape, resulting in the absolute best treatment for your Deltoid Injury.
Use the ColdCure® Wrap several times a day to help reduce not only the visible swelling you may see on the surface, but also the inflammation you may have and cannot see, deep down in the soft tissue.
Avoid using the BFST® Wrap until your inflammation and swelling has subsided. Start your BFST® treatments on Level 1. For maximum benefit, please take into consideration that each 20 minute treatment optimizes your blood circulation for an average of 4 hours. We recommend 3-4 treatments daily, spread throughout the day. During the day, do a BFST® treatment every 4 hours or before any type of physical activity. This can include anything that puts a strain on the injured area (reaching, lifting etc). This can also be used for preventative measures after a full recovery to optimize your blood flow.
Do a ColdCure® treatment any time you experience a pain flare-up or after any physical activity to prevent further injury and reduce swelling and inflammation. Wait 30-45 minutes after your ColdCure® treatment to use BFST® again. This time will allow the blood flow and body temperature to regulate again. Refrain from using ColdCure® within the 4 hours following your 20 minute BFST® treatment. This will counteract the treatment. If necessary, use the ColdCure® Wrap for pain control, then follow up with another BFST® treatment.
Any time you're not doing a ColdCure® or BFST® treatment, wear KB Support Tape over your Deltoid. If you're taping and doing multiple BFST® treatments throughout the day, do your first BFST® treatment before the Tape is applied and your last treatment after it has been removed at the end of the day.

Medical Function - BFST® Wrap - Accelerated Healing
BFST® Wraps are Class II FDA Registered medical devices. They comply with hundreds of pages of regulations and standards that are in place to keep you safe and ensure effective treatments. They are designed, manufactured and tested to extremely high standards of quality, safety and efficacy. Manufacturers of consumer grade products can't say the same, because they're not FDA Registered.
The Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy(BFST®) Wrap is designed to promote blood flow in injured tissue below the dermal (fat and skin) layer. Utilizing our proprietary Energy Web®, specially controlled and incredibly safe, low levels of EMR energy envelop your Deltoid muscle and stimulate blood flow in the soft tissue deep beneath the skin. The resulting stimulation brings oxygen and nutrient-rich blood to your injured Deltoid, accelerating the healing process.
BFST® Wraps come with a 3 level power controller. Everyone should start their treatments on Level 1 and work their way through the levels gradually as their Deltoid heals. Proceeding immediately to Level 2 or 3 will not speed up the healing process. You need to condition the body first.
When you first start your treatments on Level 1, your shoulder will feel quite warm. This is because at first, your circulation is poor. The more treatments you do, the less warming sensation you will feel. This is good. As the warmth lessens from treatment to treatment, this is an indication that your circulation is improving. Better circulation means blood flow all the time, not just during treatments. This is the goal. When you feel very little warmth during a treatment, it is time to move up to the next power level. Don't rush it though, more heat doesn't mean better treatment. In fact, less heat means better treatment, so take your time moving up in levels.
BFST® Wraps beat heating pads when it comes to healing benefits. BFST® Wraps work to actively heal your damaged tissue by stimulating healthy blood flow. Heating pads can't do this. All heating pads do is bring blood to the surface of your skin, making it hot to the touch. The difference between a BFST® Wrap and a heating pad is significant.
The Energy Web® of the BFST® Shoulder Wrap is enclosed inside a soft, comfortable neoprene wrap. The wrap shapes the Energy Web® to mold around your shoulder to ensure there is an even distribution of energy over your entire Deltoid. The wrap comes with 3 Extension Straps that allow you to find the right fit for your shoulder. After treatment, the wrap does not need to be removed. The straps can be further tightened to provide snug support and protection for your injured Deltoid.
Medical Function - ColdCure® Wrap - Extreme Pain Relief
The King Brand® ColdCure® Wrap is an FDA Registered Class I medical device. Cold and compression applied to an injured Deltoid immediately reduces the risk of damage from excessive swelling. Doctors and Therapists agree that controlling swelling is a fundamental part of reducing long term permanent damage resulting from soft tissue injuries. The ColdCure® Wrap exceeds all government and health agency regulatory requirements for cold therapy specifically for use in treating soft tissue injuries.
ColdCure® RigiGel® packs are much safer and more effective than ice and products that use mushy blue gel. Why? Because RigiGel® packs are like ice, but they stay at 0°C. While they may start at about -20°C straight from the freezer, after a few minutes they will go to 0°C and stay at 0°C for a long time. This is the ideal temperature for cold therapy, because it's cold enough to relieve your pain and swelling, but safe enough to not cause cold burns. Ice and blue gel packs will also start out at
-20°C and rapidly go to 0°C, but then their temperature will keep rising quickly, instead of staying in the safe, effective zone of 0°C. The XC Gel® danger zone is very small, but the benefits are huge.
While XC Gel® packs are designed to be stored in the freezer, you can store them in the fridge if you find them too cold from the freezer. Not all freezers are the same. If you find that the gel is too stiff from the freezer, leave it out for 1-2 minutes before inserting it inside the wrap. When the pack is soft enough to bend, it's ready to use for treatment.
Most people think that RICE - Rest, Ice, Compression & Elevation - is the formula to follow when treating a soft tissue injury. The truth is that temperatures below freezing can be too cold to effectively relieve pain and swelling. And these temperatures can also be dangerous. Ice can actually freeze your skin and numb your nerves, causing 'cold burns' and even permanent damage to your underlying tissue. The proper solution is RCCE® - Rest, Cold, Compression & Elevation. We don't want to apply ice - we want to apply cold that is just above freezing. Yes, you want cold - and lots of it - but not so cold that it is below the freezing point of water.
XC Gel® packs contain 10x more gel per lb than other products, for maximum coverage of your Deltoid. When stored in the freezer, our XC Gel® packs also have 3x more cooling power per lb than other products. This means less time spent getting up to swap out the gel packs. It also means faster relief of your pain and swelling. Bigger packs with more gel inside, plus superior cooling power equals an overall better, more effective treatment.
ColdCure® Shoulder gel packs are custom designed for the Deltoid. They conform to your shoulder to ensure that your injury receives an even distribution of cooling power. Every one of our gel packs is specially designed for a specific part of the body. We don't just use one generic gel pack with all of our products. Each part of the body is uniquely shaped, which is why each one of our gel packs is uniquely shaped too. This product has 100% been designed to treat Deltoid Injuries.
Gel packs are notorious for having hot and cold spots. Our XC RigiGel® formula helps to distribute the cold energy evenly throughout the gel pack. When cold pressure is applied to a Deltoid Injury, the gel starts to warm up in that specific spot faster than the rest of the pack. The cold energy in our gel packs is transferred from the cold spots to the warm spots much more effectively. This is a valuable improvement as your hot, swollen shoulder will receive the cooling power of the entire pack. The temperature-balancing power of this gel formula is unmatched.
